Let me tell you guys, I am one anxious mommy! I have been anticipating for this day to come since I was pregnant! Today was the day THE BOYS HAD THEIR FIRST FOOD! They have been eating rice and oatmeal cereal (milled by me) since they were 5 months. Now that they're 6 months, IT'S TIME FOR THE REAL DEAL! For the most part I think they enjoyed it. They didn't spit it back out at me, if that means anything. :) On Connor's first bite he was looking at me like, "Oh mama what's this? Are we getting fancy?" And with Carson's first bite, he tried to eat the whole spoon! I guess it was that delicious! LOL! And by the way, the boys are 24 weeks today! Now, let's talk about that... I prefer, and so does my husband and the boys doctor, to count their age by the weeks and rationalize the months (did that make sense?) For example, 4 weeks = 1 month. So, today the boys are 6 months! But, some people like to count the date (whatever date your baby was born). I say, do WHATEVER works for YOU! Any who, back to the story... I have been so excited about today that I had bought the butternut squash days ago and prepped it last night! It was a very EASY DIY. Here are the steps:
TIP: Ice trays are a great freezing technique. And you can pop them out and keep them in a freezer bag so you can reuse the trays. Ok, I've done enough blabbing...give it a try and let me know how it worked for you and if your baby liked it!
