The good thing about having twins is that they are each other's first best friend. People always tell us, "They'll always have each other...They'll never be lonely" which is very true. We hope to raise our boys to know that no matter what, they're to always stick with one another and support each other in all they do.
We also want our boys to understand there will be no such thing as "sibling rivalry." It's absolutely horrible...there's no other feeling to think that you have to compete for love, attention, and affection. Thankfully, of all my 10 brothers and 4 sisters, there was no rivalry among us.
SIDE NOTE: You're probably thinking, "Dang, her mama had all those kids!?!" LOL, NO!! Biologically, I only have 7 brothers and 1 sister, but I don't believe in "step-siblings." And surprisingly, I'm the oldest!
We hope to raise our boys to understand that it's ok to like DIFFERENT things. We hope that they will explore arts and sports, or whatever they find interesting and have a true love and passion for. We want our children to celebrate one another in their gifts and talents.
I also hope for YOU that even if you only have one child, that you raise him or her to never be in competition with someone else. And to always have an open mind for others interests and to always remain humble.
"God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts." 1 Peter 4:10
